Our Philosophy is believing that all people have the right to participate equally in society. It shall be the purpose of Participation House Brantford to facilitate the attainment of this right for people with physical disabilities.

This event is similar to a car rally. Community groups/businesses arrange a themed makeshift
mini putt at their location. Foursomes (mini putt participants) travel by car to these locations to complete in a community wide mini-putt tournament.

Location: Through out Brantford and Brant County.

Note: This fundraiser is a shared event in cooperation with the M.S. Society, Brant County Chapter.

Teams from various community organizations are invited to take on the challenge of playing basketball in special sports wheel chairs.

Speakeasy “ Night of Music & Dance”

On Saturday, March 29th, 2008 the Speakeasy band a local 12 piece band organized a fundraiser involving a night of music & dance in support of Participation House Brantford. The event was held at the Hungarian Hall on Park Rd., in Brantford. Over 350 people enjoyed a evening which included ballroom dancers performing to start off the evening. It was great to have some of the residents from both Bell Lane and the West St. apartments in attendance.
Putt For Me
in support of Participation House Brantford & M.S. Society (Brant County Chapter)

Participation House Brantford & the M.S. Society (Brant County Chapter), for the first time partner to raise funds. On Friday, March 28th, 2008 the 1st Annual “ Putt For Me “fundraiser was held in support of the 2 organizations. The event consisted of teams of four travelling to 9 various businesses/organizations (Multiple Sclerosis /Participation House, Dave Levac's Office, Lloyd St. Amand's Office, Levac Trophy's, Pet Crazy,
Brantford Chrysler, Culligan, Racer's Choice, and Investor’s Group to participate in a mini-putt hole set up by each business. Each business was encouraged to design a mini-putt hole involving the product’s/service that they provide. In total 9 teams participated, the event was run on the concept similar to a car rally. Overall everyone participating enjoyed themselves.

A new website has been created for students and other potential employees considering working with people with special needs. The website was originally developed by agencies in Niagara to attract young students to the many job opportunities within the Developmental Services Sector. The website has expanded to include the agencies within Brantford and Brant County that are recruiting specially trained staff.

Stilt Walk World Record Attempt
North Park Collegiate Will Attempt to Break a Guinness World Record in Support of Participation House Brantford!

North Park Collegiate Teacher, Ted Thomas and his Grade 10 leadership class have taken on the challenge to attempt to beat the record of “Most People on Stilts” currently held by the internationally famous “Cirque du Soleil.” It was set on June 16, 2004 and stands at 544 stilt walkers each walking 100 meters simultaneously.

N.P.C.’s leadership class will be enlisting their entire school’s student body to take up this challenge with all proceeds going to Participation House Brantford. There have been two previous attempts at this record in Brantford. Brantford’s World Record Stilt Walker Doug Hunt (on staff at P.H.) along with a committee of volunteers attempted to break this Guinness record as part of two Canada Day events held in Brantford, July 1st 2005 and 2006.
